Melodic hard rock with traces of Dokken, Journey and
Christian overtones, Rivera Bomma is an excellent band that utilizes these and
numerous other influences to their advantage creating a diverse CD.
The band incorporates flamenco guitar and other latin instrumentation
with traditional guitars to create a unique, pleasurable listening experience.
“Eclectic” is a gorgeous instrumental piece that merges the melodic
speed of early Pretty Maids with the soulfulness of Santana.
Other influences that can be heard throughout the disc include Deep
Purple, Rainbow, and Lillian Axe. Johnny
Bomma has a very pleasant voice and Rod Rivera is not afraid to lay some heavy
leads to go along with his beautiful flamenco instrumental passages.
The overall message one can get from this CD is an upbeat attitude
displayed by five musicians who are obviously playing from the heart and not for
the pocketbooks.
