DAYNIGHT
Moment Of Your Time
Self-Financed Release

Daynight is a very young metal band from Sweden that claims influences of Manowar, Iron Maiden, Helloween and Blind Guardian.  Their self-financed 4 song debut is in the form of a CDr and while it has it flaws, does show signs of a potentially brighter future.

Lead track "The Land Where Shadows Grow Old" starts out with keyboards reminiscent of Europe's "The Final Countdown" but does not continue with all the pomp and pagentry.  "Tomorrow" suffers quite a bit from lack of production but with reworking, could be improved.  "Out Of This World" reminds me quite a bit of Cinderella's "Nobody's Fool".  It falls into the power ballad category and sounds somewhat similar to "In Her Eyes" by the legendary Valhalla in terms of song arrangement.

"Moment Of Your Time" is an extremely raw release (although the production on "The Land Where Shadows Grow Old" is much better than the last 3 tracks).  Any band that is brave enough to open themselves up to critical review has succeeded in my book.  These first 4 songs will benefit the band more than waiting around to record 12 tracks instead.  I believe once Daynight gains more confidence, maturity and is able to book more studio time, their sound will eventually fall in line with the likes of a much less progressive Royal Hunt or Virgin Steele on their earlier material.
