As their bio reads, "BALL is a loud, heavy, aggressive merciless
tank formed and fronted by guitarist/vocalist Brian Tichy."
The interesting things is that Tichy is best known for playing
drums. We've found him behind the kit on tour with Billy Idol
the past two summers, and prior to that he had even played drums
with Ozzy Osbourne on Ozzfest 2000. In fact, some may remember
him as part of the Pride & Glory trio also featuring fellow
seeker of aggression, Zakk Wylde.
Drawing classic rock influences like Sabbath and Purple while
offering a heavy modern twist, Tichy began the band with Joe
Travers (drums) and Fingers (bass), and has since added an
additional guitarist Mark Dannells and a new bassist Michael
Devin.
The trio released a demo compilation in Japan in 1999 entitled
"The Grand Human Disaster Scenario" and then signed a worldwide
deal with Time Bomb Recordings in 2000 for their debut "American
Agression," however, after distribution problems surrounding
that release, the album is still searching for a label to
release the disc. With the new line-up, Ball released a second
album entitled "A Study in Persistence."
