ATELLO
Welcome To The Wrecking Ball

In the days before the Internet when you had to use a pen and paper to connect with bands, there was this band that always had a good reputation by the name of Persia.  Unfortunately, I was never able to get ahold of any of their material but they always had a buzz whenever someone mentioned their name.  Larry Atello and R. A. Heiss who were members of Persia hooked up with members of Top Secret and Playmate to form Atello in 1998.

Welcome To The Wrecking Ball is Atello's second CD release and contains 12 tracks.
If you miss the days of good time party metal in the vein of EZO, Lillian Axe, Motley Crue, etc. Atello will certainly not disappoint you.  Atello's lead vocals are of the sleazy rock variety and contrast well with the guitar playing of Paul Danni who serves up the kind of solos that are severely lacking in most newer bands.

"Dirty Mind" reminds me of "In And Out Of Love" by Heavy Pettin'.  The songs on the CD are firmly rooted in the 80's melodic metal vein with sing along choruses and good time lyrics.  With song titles such as "Too Bad To Be Good" and the extremely sultry "The Money Shot", you know that the general vibe of the album revolves around sex, and that is definitely a good thing.

Atello is not a retro band trying to milk the cash cow dry.  They write nasty songs like it was 1987 and are convincing in doing so.
