Chris Caffery of Savatage and Trans-siberian
Orchestra leaves the constraints of both bands behind
(temporarily) and releases "Faces” a solo album, which features
Caffery not only on guitar but also on vocals. He is joined by
known bandmates Jeff Plate (drums) and David Z (bass) for the
album, which is scheduled for release in the US on Jan 8.
Currently available on Black Lotus Records out of Greece,
"Faces" is packaged along with a Bonus CD entitled God D*mn War.
The bonus disc also features a liner note story (if you have a
magnifying glass to read it).
The title track offers a flaming guitar opener, and proves to be
a solid foundation for the album, which despite a few
exceptions, hits hard with driving riffs and angst lyrics.
Tracks worth mentioning include a high-energy ant- (fill in the
blank) anthem called “P*sses Me Off,” the acoustic “Music Man,”
and an Alice Cooper-style closer on the bonus disc called
“Curtains.”
Caffery will be a part of the 3rd BW/BK Six-Pack weekend in
Cleveland, OH at the Odeon in May 2005.
