ERIC JOHNSON
Bloom
Favored Nations

The latest release by Eric Johnson entitled Bloom contains 16 tracks, 10 of which are instrumentals.  Musically, the CD contains elements of classic 70's rock guitar, blues, country and jazz.  "My Back Pages" is a Bob Dylan cover that is preceded by my personal favorite track on the disc, the rocking instrumental "Summer Jam" (perhaps a slight nod to towards Summer Song?).

Johnson wisely has played the chameleon throughout his career having worked with the likes of Christopher Cross and Carole King, yet having the serious chops to tour and play with the likes of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.  While his rocking heart is clearly worn on his sleeve throughout Bloom, he is still willing to show his diverse side as well.
