Black metal meets old school power
metal? That is sure the way it seems on Vehemence’s latest release
“Helping The World To See”. Among the deathly growls, groans and
blasphemy there seems to be many riffs that would be more at home on
older Queensryche CD”s and Iron Maiden CD’s than on a black metal
disc. Lead tracks like “Kill For God” and “Trinity Broadcasting”
(Know Your Enemy) contain these types of riffs mixed with pre-nu
metal In Flames. Children Of Bodom might be a good comparison in
terms of meshing older metal guitars with modern extreme metal
(although the vocals are as far out as COB).
